Stormking Spa at Mt. Rainier

Especially appealing for active, outdoorsy adult couples, the Stormking started out as another hot tub and massage facility. But people enjoyed the setting and experience so much that they kept telling co-owner Deborah Sample that she should build a cabin and take overnight guests. That's just what she and co-owner Steven Brown did, and it's a gorgeous cabin. Set on the far side of a footbridge over a tiny pond, the modern cabin has a slate-floored entry hall, parquet floors, a woodstove, a stereo system with plenty of relaxing music, and a high ceiling. In the big bathroom, with flagstone floor and plants, you'll find a double shower amid the greenery. Out on the back deck you'll find the hot tub. The Stormking is non-smoking.
